How much of this is running on American servers?
The emails are AWS SES, the logs are Papertrail, the pipes are Cloudflare and the DNS is Uniregistry, and all of those are American services. The dedicated server itself that runs this software exists in Montreal.
AWS can read all of our mail?
See here for a discussion of this.
What information do we collect?
Your e-mail address, your IP address, whether you control that e-mail address and anything you do on this site.
How can I hide those things from you?
Use a forwarding email address and browse through a proxy or VPN tunnel. I like ProtonMail/ProtonVPN for this.
What do we use your information for?
Shenanigans, mostly. We’ll automatically email you digests of conversations you’re having - if you don’t like that, there are settings you can adjust.
How do we protect your information?
Long, unique passphrases, ssh keys, and basic ops knowledge.
What is your data retention policy?
We try to pipe all of our logs, through syslog, to Papertrail, which clears that out after a year.
If it goes in the database, though, I’m gonna retend that data for pretty-much-ever, in backups and whatnot, unless you ask me to remove it.
Do we use cookies?
Yes. Of course. You logged in, right? That’s how.
Do we disclose any information to outside parties?
We have never disclosed any of your personal information to outside parties.
